The Samyang 85mm F1.4 is a manual focus prime lens, designed to give exceptional results at wide open apertures.
The fast F1.4 aperture makes this an excellent portrait lens which enables working from a distance and tighter framing on head shots.
The character of the out-of-focus bokeh is a primary concern when choosing an ultra large aperture lens for shallow depth-of-field photography. The design of the Samyang 85mm F1.4 lens offers excellent bokeh when used near wide open at apertures such as at F1.4 and F2 to make the subject stand out against the background.
The bright aperture of F1.4 also helps to maintain shutter speeds in lower lighting conditions.
The lens also features Ultra Multi Coatings (UMC) which aids high levels of light transmission, and adds further resistance to flare and ghosting.
Bokeh
