HIGH-POWER 35× OPTICAL ZOOM AND 70× DYNAMIC FINE ZOOM IN A COMPACT BODY

The COOLPIX A1000 houses a 35× optical zoom lens (24-840 mm(*1)) with 70×(*2) Dynamic Fine Zoom (up to 1,680 mm(*1)) that enables versatile image acquisition from wide-angle vistas to close-ups of distant subjects. In macro close-up mode, subjects as close as approx. 1 cm (0.4 in.) from the front surface of the lens can be focused at the maximum wide-angle position.

Thanks to a backside illumination CMOS sensor with 16.0 effective megapixels and a wide sensitivity range from ISO 100 to 6400, as well as its high-performance NIKKOR lens, the COOLPIX A1000 can capture high-quality images with the optimal balance between high resolution and less noise at high sensitivities, even in dimly lit environments. In addition, the VR (Vibration Reduction) function that provides an effect equivalent to a shutter speed 3.0 stops faster (based on CIPA Standards) contributes to reproducing sharp, crisp images even without a tripod.

SHOOT 4K MOVIES WITH HYBRID VR AND STEREO AUDIO RECORDING

The COOLPIX A1000 supports the recording of high-definition 4K UHD (3840 × 2160) movies. You can also shoot Full HD 1080/60p movies for smooth recording. In movie recording, Hybrid VR combining optical and electronic VR is available to ensure you can achieve beautiful, stable images even during hand-held telephoto shooting. Frames from movies recorded in 4K UHD format can also be saved as still images* to preserve precious moments that cannot be captured with continuous still shooting.

ACTIVE D-LIGHTING FOR MOVIES AND STILLS

Active D-Lighting can be applied to both stills and movie recording. Because it preserves details in highlights and shadows for natural contrast, it is effective when shooting high-contrast situations such as a bright exterior through a window from inside a darkened room or a bench in direct sunlight. Images can be captured just the way you see them, and the footage utilized with no further color grading.

RAW FORMAT SUPPORTED

RAW (NRW) format images can be obtained, so you can edit to create your ideal look using Nikon’s free ViewNX-i and Capture NX-D software without lowering image quality.
