The pattern is selected via a small switch on the mic body, below the grille. The published polar pattern shows only one frequency, presumably 1kHz. In Supercardioid mode, the side rejection is indeed greater than one would expect from a Cardioid mic: closer to 10dB attenuation, rather than 6dB. Two other switches below the grille independently enable a pad (-10dB) and a high-pass filter (-12dB/octave @ 100Hz).
Visually the mic is very similar to the entry-level C01. Internally the mics are very different, the C01 using a single electret capsule, and the C03 using a dual-diaphragm true condenser capsule. It ships with a hard mount and a carrying case (type not specified).
